From the shores of Lake Erie to the launching pad of a rocket, amazing adventures in the great outdoors await!
Our summer camps offer preschoolers and students the opportunity to explore and connect with the outdoors, meet new friends, encounter local wildlife and discover the wonders of the sky in Schuele Planetarium. Campers will engage in hands-on, nature-based activities that integrate science, math, literacy and the arts as they discover their backyard and beyond at Lake Erie Nature & Science Center.
Refund Policy: Notification is required one week prior to the start of a program to be eligible for a refund. A service fee of 5% will be applied to all refunds. Please note there are no refunds for missed classes, and make-up classes are not provided.

Preschool Summer Camps
Summer Nature Nuts
For children ages 3 – 6
Adventure awaits! Explore the outdoors, make crafts, meet live animals and discover the joys of nature! We will provide water breaks, please do not send water bottles or snacks with your child. Sunscreen is recommended. Children must be fully bathroom independent.

Kindercamp
For children ages 4 – 6
The wonder of nature is at your fingertips! Explore the outdoors, make crafts and meet live animals. Dress for messy fun and wear your favorite hiking shoes. With different, exciting curriculum each week, you can sign up for one or all of these camps. We will provide water breaks, but you are welcome to bring a water bottle. Sunscreen is recommended.

Nature’s Neighborhoods
For girls in grades K – 5
The return of our annual all-girls camp takes on the challenge of animal habitats! Spend four days exploring the habitats of Huntington Reservation including the woods, the creek, the field, and Lake Erie. Discover what makes each habitat special through STEM activities, crafts, and games. Please be prepared to hike with sturdy shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, a water bottle, and a packed lunch.

Discovery STEM Camp
For students who have completed grades 1 – 5
Spend the summer exploring different topics each week! Each camp will include an outdoor hike, STEM activities, animal encounters, and hands-on discovery. Please be prepared to hike with sturdy shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, a water bottle, and a packed lunch.

Rocket Camp
For children who have completed grades 3 – 6
Learn all about rockets during this one-day rocket adventure! View footage on the planetarium dome of historic NASA rocket launches, then assemble and safely launch your own rocket. Campers must bring a water bottle and a packed lunch. Please dress for outdoor activities with sturdy shoes.

Lake Erie Nature & Science Center is a registered service provider of the Ohio Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE) educational savings account program. The Ohio ACE program provides funds for students and families to use on various enrichment and educational activities, including tutoring, day camps, music lessons, study skills services and field trips.
