Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are vital in helping Lake Erie Nature & Science Center fulfill its mission and provide wildlife services. Current volunteer opportunities and applications are listed below. Thank you for your interest and support of Lake Erie Nature & Science Center as we educate and inspire people of all ages to understand, appreciate and take responsibility for our natural world.

At this time, Lake Erie Nature & Science Center is not accepting volunteer applications for those under the age of 18. Thank you for your understanding and please check back for updates.

Opportunities

Welcome Desk Volunteer

Lake Erie Nature & Science Center seeks a volunteer to support the Welcome Desk staff by greeting visitors, answering phones, and other duties as assigned. The volunteer will fulfill the Center’s mission and follow its handbook, adhere to its COVID-19 protocols and provide friendly and professional assistance to Center visitors and callers.

Wildlife Animal Care Volunteer

Assist with the daily cleaning, feeding and care to our collection of more then 100 resident educational animals including domestic and native mammals, birds of prey, reptiles and aquatic animals under the direction of the wildlife staff.

Wildlife Rehabilitation Volunteer

Assist with the daily cleaning, feeding and care to more than 160+ species of animals. During peak migratory periods there will be a great need to assist with native songbirds injured during migration. Other animals may include birds of prey, mammals, reptiles and amphibians and aquatic animals under the direction of the wildlife staff.

Lights Out Cleveland Volunteer

Support local wildlife by volunteering for Lights Out Cleveland. Volunteers are needed to collect injured and deceased birds during fall migration.
