Learning about wildlife is a close encounter of the furry, feathery or scaly kind, thanks to our fascinating live creature colleciton, rehabilitation efforts & animal outreach.
We have indoor and outdoor public display areas where you can visit to view both local wildlife and exotic/domestic animals. You can have a close encounter with these creatures during Center hours: Monday through Sunday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
We teach the wonders of wildlife through our live animal exhibits, our wildlife education programs and our rehabilitation services.
Wildlife is one of Nature’s greatest treasures. Our Live Animals (native, exotic, and domestic) are one of the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center’s greatest assets.
We have outdoor and indoor display areas for our public visitors to view both local wildlife and exotic/domestic animals. You can visit our beautiful red fox, magnificent bald eagle, 18-foot python and many other creatures during center hours: Monday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We also use live animals in most of our educational activities. Our audiences gain an increased knowledge and respect for animals and nature as they view these animals up close, and in some cases, experiencing them “hands-on.”
We also operate the Kenneth A. Scott Wildlife Rehabilitation Program. This program takes in approximately 1,000 injured and ill wild animals each year. We do everything in our power to make them healthy enough to be released into the wild.
