Summer 2012From the "always clear" skies in our world-class planetarium to the launching pad of a rocket, amazing adventures await boys and girls ages 3 - 14.

Campers will also experience live wildlife encounters, interactive games, and many more hands-on activities during our space and rocketry camps.

Professional, year-round staff heads up the teaching. Children are grouped by age. Summer camps run June - August each year. Program information for the upcoming season can be found here.

Family Astronomy: Rocket Night
Date: Saturday July 30, 2016 Time/Duration: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
  For individuals or groups of all ages (one adult must be present for each child 8 years and younger) Fee: $40/family; each additional rocket $35

For individuals or groups of all ages (one adult must be present for each child 8 years and younger) Your whole family can end summer with a bang on this fun night together. You’ll learn about aerodynamics with some cool demos. Work together to build and then launch your own rocket!

Space Exploration Rocket Camp: Advanced
Date: Friday, June 17 Time/Duration: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  For students who have completed grades 6 - 12 Fee: $60/child

Blast off to a whole new level with rockets as we learn about space missions and astronauts, explore the history of space flight and build and launch a rocket - twice!

Boy Scouts working on the Space Exploration Merit Badge: participants in this camp will complete requirements 1 – 4. All other requirements must be completed independently before or after camp.

Family members are encouraged to attend the final rocket launch at 4:00 p.m.

Rocket Camp:Beginner Levels
Date: Fridays, June 24 OR July 8 Time/Duration: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  For children who have completed grades 3 - 6 Fee: $50/child

Learn all about rockets in this brand new, one day rocket adventure! Explore NASA’s rockets and view footage on the planetarium dome of historic launches, then assemble and safely launch your own rocket. Levels 1 and 2 will build different rockets based on experience. Campers please bring a packed lunch, snack and water bottle.

Family members are encouraged to attend the rocket launch at 3:00 p.m.

Space Camp
Date: Monday - Friday, June 27 - July 1, 2016 Time/Duration: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  For children ages 7 - 11 years and who have completed Grades 1 - 5 Fee: $306/child

We’ll spend the week exploring space, right here on Earth! Look at light like you never have before, learn about the lives of astronauts, design and build your own moon base and so much more. Bring a water bottle, dress for adventures (indoors and out) and don’t forget your imagination!

Science of Wizardry
Date: Monday - Friday, July 11 - 15 Time/Duration: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  For children ages 7 - 11 years who have completed Grades 1 - 5 Fee: $306/child

We’ve got five days of magical summer fun for you! First you’ll be sorted into your “House” by age. Each day you’ll traverse the Center “campus” and parklands as you learn the basics of chemistry in “Potions” class, practice the art of “Divination” in the planetarium, learn the ways of wildlife in the “Care of Magical Creatures” class and find your way through the forest in “Herbology.”
