• Also called an Indian Python.
• They are about 2 feet long when hatched.
• These snakes can grow to 20 feet long and over 200 pounds.
• Young Burmese pythons can be aggressive, but older ones tend to be calmer.
• They can always be identified by a dark arrowhead marking that is on the top of the head.
• This is a common pet store python.
• The Burmese Python is one of the few snakes that cares for its eggs by coiling around them during the incubation period which lasts 2 months. This maternal care protects and warms the eggs. Muscle spasms in the mother will produce some heat to warm the eggs.
• This is an arboreal snake, spending much of its time in tree branches.
