Help plan decorations, entertainment, logistics or corporate underwriting for our annual benefit.
Fall Hayride Nights
October 9 and/or 30, 2009 from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Help with check-in, creative craft activities, food service & hayrides!
Christmas Carousel
November 6 & 7, 2009. On Friday from 3 - 6 p.m, assist with set up. On Saturday (event day!), volunteer shifts are available throughout the day from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Help vendors or the Women's Board. Staff our "Go Wild" table.
Legacy Family Day
Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Assist with check-in, food service, and picture taking at this memorable event.
Family Fun Fest Committee
All year leading up to the first Sunday of June.
Join the committee that makes this fun event shine for families across the region. Kids welcome at all planning meetings. Give a little time, or a lot!
Animal Care Volunteers
Volunteers ages 16 and up needed to assist our Wildlife Department with animal care. Also looking for people with veterinary education to support rehab.
Aquatics Volunteer
Have you ever wanted to help care for thousands of gallons of aquaria? Both saltwater and freshwater? Both 150 and 300 gallon tanks as well as a custom Tide Pool? We are looking for a dedicated person with significant aquarium experience to help clean and maintain our numerous aquatic exhibits on a semi-regular basis.

Welcome Desk - Now interviewing for Welcome Desk openings that will be available this fall. Greet our visitors, answer telephones, handle ticket sales, and handle various administrative responsibilities. Weekly commitment required.
Community Relations Support - Volunteer to assist with follow up calls and letters from special events. Looking for people with some type of sales or customer service background who enjoy talking on the telephone.
Flyer/Brochure Distribution
Help publicize the great classes and programs at Lake Erie Nature & Science Center by distributing our current program and event flyers to your local recreation center, library or other venue. Visit your favorite place(s) once a month (you're going anyway, right?), take along our flyers and ask them to display our promotional materials.
Starlab Planetarium Assistant
Help us with our StarLab Portable Planetarium at local schools! We need
volunteers on limited dates to assist us by handing out and collecting post-tests, and lining up
students to go into the StarLab.
Volunteers also monitor outside StarLab while staff is inside! StarLab may visit schools in either the Cleveland
Municipal School District or the Lorain
Public Schools.

Garden & Pond Care
Looking for experienced gardener to advise and assist with care and maintenance of our backyard areas, including a rooftop
garden, pond and perennial plants.
Designer/Builder for New Donation Boxes & Signs
Looking for a skilled person to design and build donation boxes with a creative twist, like the Owl Box and Tree Trunk
Box currently in use at the Center. We need fixed as well as portable designs that can be used off-site. This might make a great Scout or family project.
Parking & Promotional Signs
We also need sturdy, reusable tee-pee signs to direct parking and promote events like our annual benefit.
