Forester Activity Badge
Date: April - November Time/Duration: 1 hour

Enjoy identifying trees and plants with a hike through the forest of Huntington Reservation.Explore the components of a tree, their functions, and some of the ways people and animals use these plants


Naturalist Activity Badge
Date: Year Round Time/Duration: 1 hour
  Fee: Five adults admitted free
Each additional adult is $3
Cost $6 per Scout, $60 minimum
Explore the Nature Center as we use our Center animals to help you identify local birds, snakes, and mammals. Identify a bird flyway and learn which birds use them. Describe different animal habitats, and learn about poisonous plants and venomous animals in our area.


Geologist Actvity Badge
Date: April - November Time/Duration: 1 hour
  Fee: Five adults admitted free
Each additional adult is $3
Cost $6 per Scout, $60 minimum
Explore components of the three main types of rocks, how they are formed, and the ways they are useful in our daily lives. Then hike to Porter Creek and examine our local geology, look for fossils, and begin a rock collection, including a sample of our state gemstone.

Learn about different occupations a wildlife conservation officer can have. Learn about animals that have become extinct in the last 100 years and wrap up your visit with a guided tour of the Nature Center.


Space Arrow Point Elective
Date: All year Time/Duration: 1 hour
  Fee: $6 per Scout, $60 minimum

Each additional adult is $3
Explore the night sky inside Schuele Planetarium.  Identify two constellations and find the North Star, learn about man-made and natural satellites, and learn about planets in our solar system.
