cleveland metroparks: www.clemetparks.comLake Erie Nature & Science Center is an affiliate of the Cleveland Metroparks and leases space from this Ohio political subdivision. We are one of several non-profit organizations which is able to operate within this unique jurisdiction which is nationally known for consistently receiving the support of local voters! Our center abuts Huntington Reservation allowing us to extend our learning environment well beyond our front doors!
Ohio Sea Grant is an outreach program administered through Ohio State University Extension. Every coastal state, including all of the Great Lakes states, has a Sea Grant program. The main objectives of Ohio Sea Grant are research, education, and outreach regarding Lake Erie. Kelly Riesen is the Fisheries Extension Program Coordinator for Ohio Sea Grant and is located at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. Kelly's outreach and education programs focus on getting more children and adults involved in sport fishing. Many of her adult education programs, such as walleye and steelhead seminars, are held at Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. She also helps children learn to fish during the Center's summer camps.
