Steve FinkSteve was elected to the Board of Directors the beginning of 2010 and is currently Vice President. Steve serves on the Center Direction and Governance Committees, and was a volunteer on the Center’s Legacy Reunion Committee before joining the Board. He first became involved with the Center as a volunteer naturalist aide (now the Naturalist Assistant program) for 6 years when he was growing up in Bay Village.

Steve works in the Department of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, where he is a colon cancer researcher and Instructor. He has worked at Case for the past 12 years after receiving his B.S. in Biology and Ph.D. in Biochemistry.  He has been a member of the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) since 2000.

As a Board Member, Steve has been able to use his analytical and scientific background to contribute to strategic planning and Center direction issues. As a scientist and educator, he believes strongly in the Center’s educational mission and wants to ensure that future generations of both children and adults have similar inspirational learning experiences that he had as a youth participating in Center programs. He feels that the Center had a strong, positive influence on his career path, and he wants to help the Center continue to be a place that has a positive impact on the community at large. Steve enjoys the outdoors and his interests include hiking, backpacking, camping and astronomy.
