Dixie is President of the Women’s Board and has been a member since 2005. Dixie and her husband Ted are current residents of Avon Lake after living in Bay Village for 46 years. Together, they enjoy bringing the Center’s program animals to events and programs.
The Women’s Board is a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. It was founded by six women in 1954 and since then has provided more than hundreds of thousands of dollars in financial support to the Center and more than a million hours of service. Today, its members continue the tradition of supporting the Center through service, leadership, community awareness and fundraising. The Women’s Board presents an annual Christmas Carousel arts and crafts show, a Bay Village favorite.
